A new survey from Pew Research indicates that nearly two-thirds of Americans believe artificial intelligence is developing at an alarming pace. While 49% of respondents admit to using chatbots occasionally, this marks a significant rise from 2024, when only 33% reported similar usage. Notably, ChatGPT's popularity has surged, with 44% of individuals stating they have interacted with it, doubling its usage since 2023. Despite the increased engagement, public sentiment remains largely skeptical; only 16% of those surveyed feel that AI will benefit society. Younger individuals, in particular, are more likely to embrace AI technologies, yet they also express greater concerns about the implications of such rapid advancements. Among Americans aged 18 to 29, 66% share the belief that AI is progressing too quickly, reflecting a generational divide in both usage and perception of artificial intelligence.
