When accessing an infrastructure management panel, users often encounter overwhelming tables with excessive columns, numerous overlapping modal windows, and a single 'Save' button that could disrupt an entire branch's network. In B2B product design, particularly for IaaS, storage management, or PC fleet oversight, the stakes are high. It's not just about user retention; it's about preventing a mass server failure. This necessitates a stronger emphasis on error prevention. Our users are not merely replacing cartridges; they are infrastructure engineers, which means we must go beyond basic user convenience. The infrastructure must be proactive rather than just user-friendly. Recently, I faced the challenge of designing a web monitoring panel and task scheduler for a fleet of over 10,000 devices. Before even starting on Figma, I had to sift through numerous best practices and patterns, breaking them down into their fundamental components. I also analyzed existing solutions like Microsoft Endpoint Manager and VMmanager, adhering to classic design principles.
