In a recent session with Claude Code, I inquired about a client that I hadn't mentioned before. To my surprise, Claude provided detailed information, including the server name, deadlines, and task folder, indicating that it had retained prior knowledge. This led to the revelation that Claude operates with five distinct memory mechanisms, each with its own logic and error margin. One of these mechanisms has the potential to significantly alter experiences, while two others were previously unknown to me, and one poses genuine risks.
