Nous Research has unveiled a new Profile Builder for the Hermes Agent, designed to enhance user experience by consolidating the setup process into a single guided flow within a local web dashboard. Previously, establishing an agent required multiple command-line interface (CLI) steps, but the new tool simplifies this by allowing users to define an agent's identity, select a model and provider, and choose from built-in and optional skills, all in one place.

The Hermes Agent is an open-source, self-improving entity that operates across various platforms, including CLI and desktop applications. Each profile created through the builder is stored in its own directory, containing configuration files and separate memory, ensuring that different agents do not interfere with one another.

To access the dashboard, users can run the command 'hermes dashboard', which opens in a web browser. The Profile Builder collects inputs similar to those used in CLI commands, writing them directly into the profile's configuration files. This tool not only streamlines the setup process but also maintains the flexibility of the CLI for advanced users. Overall, the Profile Builder represents a significant improvement in managing Hermes Agent profiles, making it easier to create isolated agents tailored to specific tasks.
